Straight Facts About the Industry
Many labs report pre-thaw viability, which doesn't reflect what actually arrives at your door. Images often show passage 3 cells—but what you receive might be passage 4 or even older. Labs rarely invest in random, gold-standard testing, and few distributors would risk damaging the relationship with what may be their only supplier. It's easier for labs(and cheaper) to reuse old data. Improper LN2 shipping above -130°C kills cells. Many suppliers don't care—or don't even know. There's no real penalty for bad metrics, outdated tests, or plain fraud.
